Louis Vuitton, Spring/Summer 2024 — Pharrell Williams’ first collection for the house, shown on the Pont Neuf in June 2023. Debut-season pieces occupy a fixed point in the archive: they are the opening statement of a creative directorship, produced once and never revisited. This is one of them.

Surprisingly lightweight cotton denim in a saturated red, hand-dipped to black through the leg — the gradient break falls differently on every pair, so no two are identical. Tonal embroidered Monogram motifs run the full garment, red-on-red above the break, black-on-black below. Gold-tone engraved hardware, five-pocket construction, straight relaxed leg. The tailoring is the tell of the season: runway denim finished to ready-to-wear standards. The denim is chic and I’ve never seen LV use Denim so light with be embossed logo before.
