Wallace & Barnes is a sublabel of American retailer J.Crew, established in 2011 by then-lead designer Frank Muytjens. As a premium subdivision of J.Crew's menswear, Wallace & Barnes focuses on American heritage menswear, which is made with premium materials and offered at a higher price point. The high-end sublabel started after Muytjens and his design team were inspired by the archives they used as design references for J.Crew. As a result, Wallace and Barnes has long embodied classic Americana and workwear-inspired classics with heavy knits, Western shirts and premium selvage denim, while the Wallace and Barnes Work jacket has become a timeless staple in its own right.
