Taichi Murakami Men's Shorts
Japanese designer Taichi Murakami established his eponymous label in 2012. Before launching his self-named brand known for its inventive and detailed takes on outerwear, apparel and accessories, Murakami studied patternmaking in Milan, Italy and cut his teeth working under Maurizio Amadei of m.a.+. Before this, the designer encountered the work of Carol Christian Poell while working at Lift, a multi-brand boutique based in Tokyo. Taichi Murakami’s technical garment making background is highly evident in the label’s meticulously designed offerings. Taichi Murakami pants are crafted from painstakingly sourced wools to create timeless and functional pieces designed to be worn time after time again. Taichi Murakami sweatshirts and hoodies update the casual streetwear silhouette in luscious and warm cashmere. The label is well-known for its circular glasses. Taichi Murakami glasses’ classic round shape combined with the strength and resilience of titanium ensures a lifetime of wear. Taichi Murakami sunglasses repurpose the label’s now-signature round glasses design. Taichi Murakami watches are distinguished by their eye-catching oxidized faces and simple leather bands which attach to the timepiece with a single distinctive stitch.
