Sasquatchfabrix

Cult-favorite Japanese fashion label Sasquatchfabrix was established in 2003. Helmed by designers Daisuke Yokoyama and Katsuyuki Izumi, Sasquatchfabrix is known for bringing together traditional Japanese design history with American workaday and streetwear culture. Founders Yokoyama and Araki first met while studying at Japan’s Nagaoka Institute of Design. Shortly after graduation, the duo started publishing a zine and making limited edition t-shirts. As the brand expanded, so did its references. Sasquatchfabrix outerwear and jackets featuring highly technical details seamlessly meld together the seemingly disparate worlds of urban streetwear and Japanese craft. Popular Sasquatchfabrix hoodies pay homage to both the American Southwest and East Coast Ivy League culture. For those wondering, the brand’s name references the mythical Sasquatch, aka Bigfoot, who purportedly roams wild in North America. Much anticipated capsule collections with streetwear giant Supreme have expanded the brand’s footprint.
