Playboy
Most publications don’t moonlight as popular apparel brands, but most publications aren’t Playboy. Since 1953, Playboy has grown from its original platform of “Picasso, Nietzsche, jazz and sex” to include a much broader cultural scope (the sex, however, was not replaced).
Given its inherently rebellious nature and ties to taboo, Playboy is many streetwear brand’s dream score when in search of a collaborator. It’s why Supreme works with it year after year and why Anti Social Social Club followed suit. For today’s man, it’s more likely that someone has worn the signature Playboy Bunny on a piece of streetwear or sneakers than actually held an issue or read a piece from the magazine. When looking for a way to be cheeky and bring a sense of promiscuity to your brand, nothing beats the bunny.
Is Playboy still printing?
The publication has announced it has gone digital as of March 2020.
Is the brand with two ladies back to back Playboy?
That is the Kappa logo. Kappa is not Playboy.
What does the Playboy bunny mean?
It’s the mascot of the brand.
