Located on Howard Street in New York’s SoHo neighborhood, Opening Ceremony garnered incredible influence for curating and championing innovative then-emerging-now-household-name designers such as Acne, Alexander Wang, Eckhaus Latta, and Bode. Opening Ceremony pioneered the brand collaboration playbook. Opening Ceremony x Vans and Opening Ceremony x Columbia barely scrape the tip of the collaboration iceberg. A collaboration with Opening Ceremony is a highly coveted co-sign of interesting and distinctive style. While the brand announced in 2020 it would close its retail operations, the brand’s motifs and idiosyncratic perspective live on with new ownership ensuring access to Opening Ceremony bombers, Opening Ceremony sweatshirts, and Opening Ceremony sweatpant joggers to a new generation.
