Online Ceramics

Online Ceramics was founded in 2016 by friends Elijah Funk and Alix Ross. The Los Angeles-based brand is instantly recognizable for its inventive screen printed designs and irreverent point of view. Founders Funk and Ross, who met in Ohio, both their respective homestate, first started Online Ceramics with bootleg Grateful Dead T-shirts which quickly gained favor in artistic and design-focused circles. Since then, Online Ceramics has created a sprawling universe of DIY streetwear. Online Ceramics hoodies and Online Ceramics hats are punctuated with psychedelic references, meditative slogans, and countless other summer camp-inspired motifs.

While the name might invoke clay mugs and other handicrafts made in a pottery studio, Online Ceramics does not create any actual ceramic items. The name instead invokes the shared artistic pursuit of its founders. Online Ceramics’ frequent collaborations with entertainment company A24, including Online Ceramics x The Lighthouse and Online Ceramics x The Witch, has created an entirely new and creative approach to film merch. Other collaborations such as Online Ceramics x Nalgene are also highly sought after. Since Online Ceramics made its splashy debut onto the streetwear scene, countless other DIY brands have emerged. Arguably, many have taken cues from the ethos of Online Ceramics.
