Nutmeg Women's Jackets

Nutmeg Mills, often referred to as simply Nutmeg, is a now-defunct sportswear apparel brand. Known for bold fonts and high-quality craftsmanship, vintage Nutmeg t-shirts are sought out by collectors. Founded by brothers Marty and Dick Jacobson, Nutmeg was a major player in the sportswear landscape of the ‘80s and ‘90s. The brand’s name is inspired by the founding brothers’ home state of Connecticut.

Marty and Dick Jacobson founded Nutmeg by purchasing an existing apparel business. Quickly the brothers evolved the brand to produce fashion-forward sports apparel featuring sports superstars. Nutmeg made the playbook for licensed sportswear. Nutmeg grew quickly and the company struck a partnership with the NBA followed by deals such as Nutmeg x MLB, Nutmeg x Nascar and Nutmeg x NFL. In 1994, Nutmeg was sold to VF Corporation, which also acquired streetwear lifestyle brand Supreme.
