Michiko Koshino London

Born in Japan and based in London, designer Michiko Koshino launched her eponymous label in 1986. Inspired by cosmopolitan urban hubs and the vibrant club kid culture, her brand quickly gained recognition for its avant-garde sensibilities, seamlessly blending Japanese and British sportswear design influences. Notably, Michiko Koshino is the sibling of esteemed Japanese designers Junko and Hiroko Koshino. After graduating from Tokyo's prestigious Bunka Fashion College, Koshino embarked on her career in London.

Her early collections, featuring iconic inflatable cat jackets, swiftly became staples in the London club scene. Building on this legacy, the label's outerwear collections showcase innovative neoprene and polyester constructions designed to withstand London's infamous drizzly weather conditions.

Michiko Koshino's bottoms, crafted from premium Japanese textiles, played a pivotal role in introducing Japanese denim to a global audience. Highly coveted tops from the brand boast expert tailoring, while Michiko Koshino's bags skillfully blend traditional materials with contemporary silhouettes.
