Kansai Yamamoto’s eponymous brand Yamamoto Kansai Company Ltd. in 1971. While other designers are credited with exposing the world to Japanese high fashion, Yamamoto was the first to truly break into the western fashion world. Although much of the clothing from the early years of Yamamoto Kansai were very avant-garde and experimental, much of the clothing bearing the name now is more in line with contemporary menswear, like sweatshirts, jackets and shirts.
