IRAK was founded by Kunle Martins aka EARSNOT in the late 1990s. The original crew consisted of creatives and graffiti artists and the name of the brand comes from the term “raking” aka shoplifting, which is how most graffiti artists acquired their spray paint, clothing and other gear. For the brand's entire existence, it has been synonymous with insider New York street culture; the kind of brand worn by the people who work in cool spaces.
