Hang Ten

Hang Ten was founded in Seal Beach, California in 1960 by Duke Boyd and Doris Moore. The company is most famous for its authentic surf wear, creating the first boardshorts. At the time, surfers were simply wearing their swim trunks to surf but Hang Ten’s boardshorts, with wider legs and reinforced crotches, were the first designed specifically for the wear and tear surfing brings. Hang Ten was one of the first surf brands to sponsor events, helping the sport establish itself in front of a growing audience. Boyd and Moore sold the company in the 1970s but the company's legacy lives on, as do its T-shirts and sweatshirts.
