Tyler, the Creator launched Golf Wang in 2011, somewhere between the craze of Odd Future’s notorious gen-movement and the consequent offset of his own boisterous persona—the rapper-skater multihyphenate artist who blares pop-culture sirens with his every move. Articulating his signature steez, Golf Wang clothing has always existed as an extension of Tyler and his evolving creative vision. And just like Tyler, Golf has matured a bit over the years. Against the sporadic candy-colored antics of earlier collections, newer outputs reveal more nuanced, introspective portals of vibrancy. After a collaborative stint with Vans, Tyler partnered with Converse, releasing the first limited-edition powder blue One Star in 2017 followed by the GOLF le FLEUR* x Converse imprint.
