Giambattista Valli

Giambattista Valli

Born and raised in Rome, Giambattista Valli (1966) had an early connection to classic drapes, gowns, and floral dresses. After briefly attending Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, Valli started his professional career back in his home country at Roberto Capucci, Krizia, and Fendi. Valli had his first successes, however, as the successor to the namesake founder and director of Emanuel Ungaro. He worked as Ungaro's Creative Director in Paris until he launched his eponymous brand in 2005. Valli is one of the few non-French fashion designers in the Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion. He created a capsule collection with H&M in 2019, which included his first men's collection, and was the Creative Director of Moncler Gamme Rouge between 2008 and 2017.
