Filson

Filson

Filson is an American outdoor and workwear brand founded by Clinton C. Filson in 1897 in Seattle, Washington. Filson originally established the brand as C.C. Filson's Pioneer Alaska Clothing and Blanket Manufacturers, as he specifically catered to Seattle travelers on their way to the Klondike Gold Rush in Alaska. After the gold rush was over, Filson continued to make quality products, this time geared towards outdoor enthusiasts. Although the company is no longer family-owned since the 1970s, Filson clothing is still made according to original traditions and materials. Filson jackets like the Tin Cloth and Mackinaw Cruiser have followed the same design for over 100 years. In recent years, Filson has collaborated with other brands like Nigel Cabourn, Shinola and Levi's.
