Edwin Men's Cloaks & Capes
Established in 1947, Edwin is a Japanese brand with deep roots in the modern denim world. Edwin founder Tsunemi Yonehachi was one of the first to import vintage American jeans to Japan. The ensuing craze for American denim in Japan resulted in the launch of Edwin’s first made in Japan jeans in 1961. Vintage Edwin jeans continue to be worn to this day by denim collectors and casual enthusiasts alike. The brand’s name is a rearrangement of the letters in ‘denim.’ Edwin jean styles such as the Edwin ED-55 and Edwin ED-80s make reliable mainstays of a thoughtful wardrobe. Edwin’s storied brand history has helped move denim technology forward. The brand focused early on on pre-washing techniques and created a process called ‘old wash’ which is a precursor to modern stone washing. Edwin continues to produce well-designed hoodies, knitwear, denim jackets and leather outerwear made for everyday use with a focus on craftsmanship and sustainable production practices. Collaborations with like-minded brands focused on timeless looks have resulted in Edwin x Margaret Howell.
