Balmain Cropped Pants
Originally focused on the finest aspects of Haute Couture, Balmain was brought into the 21st century following the appointment of Christophe Decarnin in 2005. Abandoning the classic French style established by founder Pierre and predecessor Oscar De La Renta, Decarnin preferred extremely ornate--and aggressively priced--ready to wear. His tenure introduced the now classic Biker jean, as well as Naval officer coat, and highly collectible leather perfectos.
In 2011, Decarnin was replaced by design assistant Olivier Rousteing. Building on the labels A-list clientele, Rousteing fully embraced pop culture, and now Balmain is the de-facto celebrity brand.
