Area NYC, commonly known as AREA, was founded by Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Pansczczyk in 2004. The two met at Parsons School of Design pursuing their masters degrees after stints at Calvin Klien and Chloe, respectively. Fogg and Pansczczyk bonded over their mutual love of 1980s glamor and feminine silhouettes, naming the brand after a nightclub from one of New York’s most exciting eras. These inspirations come through clearly in AREA’s clothing, from its metallic mini dresses to its crochet crop tops.
