Affliction

Affliction Clothing was founded in Seal Beach, California in 2005. The brand quickly became well-regarded by members of the mixed martial arts community. Influenced by graphic design and printing techniques, Affliction introduced a cotton t-shirt style featuring distinctive illustrations. Often worn by successful MMA fighters, Affliction’s designs are influenced by arts, rock, moto, Americana and tattoo culture. After finding success with t-shirts, Affliction expanded to offer hoodies, denim and outerwear. Affliction’s name refers to the brand’s founding ethos to endure and surmont “pain and suffering due to adversity.” Popular Affliction motifs are angel wings, crosses, swords, roses, skulls and skeletons. The company helped kickstart trends, such as tie-dye wash and embellishment.
