Adidas × Rick Owens

Rick Owens x Adidas debuted during the Spring/Summer 2014 show of Owens' eponymous label. As both brands introduced the Runner, it was clear that Owens approached the collaboration with the German sportswear giant as an extension of his own labels, using geometric shapes, unique silhouettes, and his ever-present monochromatic color schemes of white, gray and black. The Adidas x Rick Owens partnership lasted until 2017 and introduced several silhouettes that pushed the envelope in footwear design. Next to the runner, the collaboration also brought forth standout designs like the elevated Mastodon version of Adidas classic Superstar, the On Running-coded Springblades and the knee-high boot versions of the Runner and Superstar.
