Nike Diamond Turf 3
With the exceptional multi-sport athlete that Deion Sanders was (the only person ever to play a Super Bowl and a World Series), a signature shoe had to live up to the expectations of legend status. Nike managed to do so with the Nike Diamond Turf, with the third installment of the shoe remaining especially popular. The Nike Diamond Turf 3, also known as the Nike Air DT Max '96', was released in 1996 and was instantly noticeable by an allover claw mark on each side. It was the first of Sanders' shoes to feature a visible air unit in the heel, and it continued the signature midfoot strap closure that made Neon Deion's shoes so revolutionary both on and off the football and baseball fields. The Nike Diamond Turf 3 has seen several retro releases, noticeably in 2008, 2010, 2013 and 2024.
