Maison Margiela Gats Paint

Few items have reached the icon status of the Maison Martin Margiela's GATs. Formally known as the Replica Sneaker, the Margiela staple balances sophisticated luxury with military aesthetics since its introduction in 1999.

Inspired by sports shoes used by the German army in the 1970s, the minimal yet functional design originally featured a white leather upper and light gray suede panels. Since its inception, Margiela has reiterated the Replica with different material and color compositions, including patent and metallic leather and the Maison Margiela GATs Paint splatter, which offers a playfully distressed take on this classic sneaker.
