Maison Margiela Gats

Few items have reached the icon status of the Maison Martin Margiela's GATs. Formally known as the Replica Sneaker, the Margiela staple balances sophisticated luxury and military aesthetics since its introduction in ‘99. The Margiela GATs (German Army Trainer) is inspired by sports shoes used by the German army in the 1970s. The minimal yet function design made them easy to produce in masses, while the gum sole provided comfort and traction for military training.
