Growing up in the [‘90s](https://www.grailed.com/drycleanonly/90s-style-master-class) skate scene, [Virgil Abloh’s](https://www.grailed.com/drycleanonly/who-is-virgil-abloh) love for the skateboarding culture, community and aethetic has always been a guiding force throughout his career. From hosting competitions and co-designing a skatepark in Ghana alongside [Daily Paper](https://www.grailed.com/designers/daily-paper) to signing Lucien Clarke as its first LV skater. It’s unsurprising that the late Men's Creative Director at LV, steered the French fashion house into this realm with the launch of the [Louis Vuitton](https://www.grailed.com/designers/louis-vuitton) [Skate Shoe](https://www.grailed.com/browse/louis-vuitton-skate) during the F/W ‘22 Show. 
The early-aughts-inspired silhouettes pays homage to iconic footwear design from that era with its bulky construction, retro paneled upper, thick tongue and double laces. The Louis Vuitton Skate Shoe is elevated by monogram elements, premium technical mesh and calf leather throughout.
