Balenciaga Armor

Inspired by Joan of Arc's lore, Balenciaga introduced its first Armor designs during its runway show for Fall/Winter 2021 with a pair of Chevalier heels. Two years later, Demna Gvasalia also previewed a full 3D-printed armor dress as part of Balenciaga's 52nd couture collection. The Balenciaga armor items, not to be confused with the collaboration between Balenciaga and Under Armour from 2024, are inspired by medieval and gothic eras from four centuries ago. The Chevalier boots, pumps and derby shoes are made from lacquered material, making them much lighter than they appear to be.
