Balenciaga Arena Low
Before Demna Gvasalia took his Vetements antics to the Spanish-French luxury house, Balenciaga still focused on a more classic approach to luxury. One of the prime examples of the "old Balenciaga" is the Balenciaga Arena, a piece of footwear introduced in 2010 under the creative direction of Nicolas Ghesquière.
The Balenciaga Arena sneakers have a basketball-inspired silhouette, featuring a recognizable wide padded tongue and D-ring lace grommets. While the high version was the most popular, Balenciaga Arenas were also released in a low version, stripping some height while maintaining its unique aesthetic. Available for men and women, the Balenciaga Arena Low was one of the most popular luxury sneakers in the early 2010s, both in its classic black rendition as well as all the other color variations that have been released.
