THE YOUNGER GENERATION (2013)

The youth are a constant inspiration for me. Kids today constantly repurpose ideas and concepts, regardless of their intent. These new meanings fuel the future.
Ian Connor was a downtown kid when we started #BEENTRILL#. I met Ian on the way to a #BEENTRILL# DJ gig for Fool’s Gold Day Off. I came up to him and asked if I could photograph him because he had great style. He was with Ade, his best friend at the time. They were both cool so I decided to shoot them both for the Stüssy x Timberland campaign. I did a 360 scan of them using an Xbox.
>>>"When I first met Matt, I just thought he was the coolest. He had a Latin Kings jersey on. Long blonde hair, a white guy tatted up, wearing loafers with it. That was the sickest thing to me. So then when I got more into the creative side of things and they started inventing things for me, it's a memento of who I am and what I am. I look at him as one of the GOATs. He was the rock star in the fashion industry." - Ian Connor
Kids like Ian, Myles Hall, Luka Sabbat and John Ross keep me well informed and up to date with new contemporary ideas.
>>>"Before the big campaigns, before the modeling contract, he was just a genuine, really, really nice dude. There are a lot of people that fake their interest in youth culture. There are only a few that are actually about it; there's only a few that give kids a platform and have the youth be a part of their shit instead of just stealing from the kids." - Luka Sabbat
