Description
Year: Fall/Winter 2015
Before designing his Fall/Winter 2015 “Dissertation on Revealing the Practice” collection, Hiroki Nakamura underwent a cross-country road trip across America with his wife and daughter. To imbue a true sense of vintage authenticity to his garments, Nakamura and his family trekked through the Great Plains and explored the various metropolitan areas from Florida to Seattle. Fall/Winter 2015 is informed through an emphasis on natural materials and meticulous craftsmanship. Okinawa inks, Fukushima fibers and Navajo prints mix with suede cowboy vests and men’s shirts with chambray yokes to offer a matrimony of world cultures, united by Nakamura’s more organic approach.
This Mohair knit from the acclaimed Japanese artisan features a soft mohair yarn that has undergone a natural dyeing process. Juxtaposed against the off-white color of the knit, these dyed stripes serve as a beautiful, organic contrast to a rather minimal garment.
