Description
From Raf Simons' Spring/Summer 2002 collection, "Woe Onto Those Who Spit On The Fear Generation," the The "KOLLAPS" hoodie is one of the most revered items in the designer's oeuvre. Predating generations of designers tackling luxury streetwear, Simons showed high-end hooded sweatshirts before anyone even considered the notion of them being fashionable.
This sleeveless hoodie features all of the hallmarks of the season—masked figures, lit flares, and striking monochromatic looks. A more evolved form of the dark and brutal aesthetic that Simons began to adopt in the late '90s. Subversive imagery and covered faces, all released in the wake of 9/11, established Simons as one of the driving commentators in contemporary menswear. In addition to provocative imagery, this hoodie also features original art and iconography from Peter De Potter, making the "KOLLAPS" artwork almost instantly recognizable.
