Thunderbird Jacket 14oz Nihon Menpu Denim Unlined

Here's a jacket that got some love then retired out of the rotation. I picked this up for $200 from one of Ginew's mystery box sales. It retailed for $335 new on their website. The discount came because it was a factory second; the buckskin suede collar (i.e. deer skin suede leather collar) was extra hairy and had a couple of lines in it (see pictures). Additionally, the rear cinch buttons are a darker color than the buttons on the placket. Doesn't make difference at all in the functionality, and the suede collar even adds more character.

This jacket has been hand washed and air dried, so you are getting a clean jacket. The suede was cleaned with a natural suede cleaner and then brushed. There is some darkening at the fold of the collar, but that's expected with time and wear. There is very little indigo fading; just some in the underarms. This is yours to really break in! The beige weft in the nihon menpu denim will give it an excellent vintage faded look over time. The silhouette is reminiscent of Lee Stormrider Jackets (but this is priced better, with finer materials, and it's not mass-produced!). This piece is made in the USA. There is a Thunderbird stitched into the interior of a cuff that etches in as you fade the jacket, plus there is some cool stitching under the collar. Attention to detail! I'd say this is a slimmer XL; see measurements.
