Iconic Azzedine Alaïa Spring 1991 RTW Python Leather Jacket

A true collector’s piece!

This is - without any exaggeration-iconic, stunning, groundbreaking, soul-wrecking, heart-pounding, head-turning hand-dyed Python Leather Jacket from the infamous Spring 1991 RTW collection.
Being proclaimed as “The king of cling”, Alaïa was famous for his incredible ability to make clothes support and shape the body while not overcomplicating the cut. His leather work was beyond the definition of excellence, and his fashion was beyond the definition of fashion - never following fashion weeks schedules, never setting deadlines and never allowing anyone to pressure or shape his process - he was only focusing on perfecting his craft and creating timeless pieces.
Not chasing any popularity or recognition, he was recognized as one of the greatest fashion designers of all times. And this is the level of integrity and dignity, I personally admire.
As for this jacket worn by Iman and being kept at the FIT Museum, what makes it so perfect is not only the incredible leather-dye, but also the construction of it, intended to make its owner look feminine and incredibly sexy without any effort - from a cropped length to a large collar and precisely cut back and shoulders - this jacket will make anybody feel empowered, but comfortable at the same time. The exotic leather is also incredibly soft and shiny - it moves together with your body.

The jacket is in a very good vintage condition with minor signs of aging - such as tiny fluffs, natural for python and some faded enamel on the stars on the buttons, however those are impossible to see when worn.

Size FR 40, but I highly recommend relying on the measurements:

Shoulders - 42 cm (16,5 in)
Length - 42 cm (16,5 in)
Armpit to armpit - 49 cm (19,5 in)

Corresponds to the International Size M, but can be worn by S (for the fir refer to Charlize, our mannequin)
