Prior to the release of the Spring/Summer 2020 full preview and lookbook, Supreme’s only two previews of the collection were a simple Nike Air Force 1 Low collaboration and a clip of Tupac’s hologram in Supreme x Hanes boxer briefs performing “Hail Mary” giving fans perhaps both the most and least expected glimpses of a new collection ever.

In the lookbook, starring Sage Elsesser, Supreme’s expansive collection includes a variety of tops, bottoms, outerwear and accessories. While Supreme’s own graphics and prints remain popular, it’s no stranger to featuring the work of other artists on its items. This season, the late singer-songwriter and visual artist Daniel Johnston’s work is featured on multiple shirts, Los Angeles based artist Mario Ayala’s art is printed on two raglan tops, and while it’s not officially credited, the Cartoon Sweater features characters virtually identical to Hanna Barbera cartoons.

In addition to featuring the work of other artists, Supreme is also fond of using images of other celebrities or cult-favorite figures on its products as well. Often using straightforward text to relay their ethos (“We wanted to be known as supreme” is the chest poking message of this season), the brand likes to align itself with iconic figures who are to their world what Supreme is to streetwear. This season, graphics depicting Naomi Campbell, Miles Davis and El Chapo are featured but the aforementioned Tupac Hologram tee will certainly be one of the most sought after pieces of the season. Other standout pieces of apparel include the Hole Punch Denim Trucker jacket, New Era/MLB Varsity jacket Painted Logo shirt, and the Shop T-shirt.

Supreme has used accessories to garner interest and distance itself from the competition for years and this season is no different. This time around the brand is releasing collaborative S&M BMX dirt bikes, a Numark turntable, B.B. Simon belts, Ziploc bags and Oreo cookies (yes, really) among other unusual items.
