After releasing a slew of new tees last week and serving as the second Nike collaboration of the season, Supreme has teamed up with the Swoosh to serve up a new collection of sneakers and gear. This time, the collaboration is focused on the Air Max Plus.

Originally designed by Sean McDowell, the Air Max Plus was at the cutting edge of Nike tech when it dropped in 1998. Inspired by Floridian sunsets and palm trees bending in the wind, the Air Max Plus wasn’t just an advancement in Nike Air—it was a game-changer in terms of sneaker production; everything from the Air Max Plus’ signature sublimated upper, to the TPU cage that encases the shoe, all required some serious trial-and-error. Even though it wasn’t intended to be Nike’s marquee sneaker for the 1998 season (that goes to the Air Max 98), the Air Max Plus’ radical design, a double take-worthy price tag (and co-sign from major retailer Foot Locker), helped create an unexpected allure around the silhouette. Gaining a cult following in Europe and Australia in particular, the Air Max Plus became a status symbol among both those looking for better running performance… and for those who could afford to rock it on the sidewalk.

Supreme’s take on the Air Max Plus flips the shoe’s TPU upper slightly, turning the metallic ribbing into a branding opportunity; if you look closely, you’ll see “Supreme” hidden in plain sight on the side panels. Suede panelling sets off the sides and heel of each model. Oh, and before we forget, it wouldn’t be a Supreme collaboration without some insane colorways. This partnership covers all the bases, going from an over-the-top slime green, to a black-red-pink combo, to a tasteful all-white (accented by a red Swoosh, naturally). The Dri-Fit running hat released along with this collection comes in one of three colorways, each designed to match one of the sneakers.

The Air Max Plus-themed collection drops on Supreme’s webshops around the world on October 15, with the collection hitting a couple days later on October 17 at Supreme’s Japanese stores. Please note: The white colorway featured in this collaboration (which, frankly, is the best colorway) will not be available until November 1.

Keep it locked to Grailed’s Hype marketplace after the drop for a second chance to cop these kicks (because—as you surely already know—these are going to sell out quickly).
