While this “Legion Pine” SB Dunk from 2014 might give off some Miami vibes from afar, these Dunks prove to be much more of a nod to the Everglades than “The U” once you get up close. The Legion Pine and Kumquat color scheme line the leather upper, with the Legion Pine overlays sporting a crocodile-style etching throughout for an upgraded feel. The Kumquat-colored Swoosh features a pebbled touch, as does the matching heel tab. The upper is rounded out with an Opal paneling, which allows the white midsole to pop.

The only time Michael Jordan graced an NBA court in the Jordan XI “Columbia” was the 1996 NBA All-Star Game. Wearing those awesome teal jerseys–one of the best in All-Star history, which were inspired by the host city of San Antonio–Jordan capped off his fit with the “Columbia” XIs and the rest is history. In his first All-Star Game since his return from baseball, Jordan picked up right where he left off, taking home MVP honors and an Eastern Conference victory. The 2001 pair featured in this listing was the first retro run of the original colorway, before eventually receiving the “Legend Blue” treatment in 2014. The “Columbia” XIs never hit the court again, even during his time in Washington when they would’ve made sense aesthetically.

The “Brickhouse/Turbo Green” Dunk is actually an attempt at crafting an elegant, supportive and upgraded skateboarding shoe for modern-day skaters. Take the materials across the upper, for example. One of the pillars of Nike’s “Be True To Your School” collection of Dunks was the “Kentucky” Blue and White pair. Since the mid-’80s, the high-top Kentucky pair has been one of the most sought after collegiate Dunks, hence its many iterations over the years, including, most recently, 2020’s low-top variation. In a collaboration between Detroit-based retailer Burn Rubber and New Balance, this 577 pays homage to one of the greatest boxers of all time and the Motor City’s favorite son, Joe Louis. The “Brown Bomber” was world champion from 1937 to 1949 and this sneaker pays is a callback to the era from which he dominated. Decked in a brown, black and white upper, the sneaker is designed to resemble the old school boxing gloves Louis donned during his fights. The gum sole caps off the very vintage look. It’s not explicitly featured in the listing, but the best part about these kicks is arguably the box. Designed to appear like a violin case, Louis used to hide his boxing ambitions from his mother by carrying around his boxing gloves in his violin case. What an awesome tidbit from a boxing legend.

New Balance silhouettes just have an uncanny way of bringing all types of designers together from all around the world. SBTG is an artist and sneaker designer from Singapore who in 2014, linked up with Japanese retailer Mita Sneakers for this camo-clad take on the MRT580, a trail-running New Balance model. The upper consists mainly of black nubuck and is accented by both bright neon green pops throughout the paneling, as well as camo print on the tongue and by the collar. There are two really cool additional features: the bolt cutter graphic on the tongue tag and the chain-link fence graphic on the insole.

Decked in a red, white and blue colorway, this was Palace’s patriotic take on the Reebok R12 Trainer from 2013. Palace and Reebok have collaborated quite a bit—mainly working together prior to Palace’s current partnership with adidas, sticking mostly with understated classics, making this pair of R12’s one of the more exciting products from that partnership. Red, white and blue all over, this pair of trainers features Palace and Reebok co-branding on the tongue tag as well as a tonal embroidery by the heel.

Jordan Brand has adopted its “Oreo” colorway for many iconic Jordan silhouettes over the years, but it has never worked better than on the Jordan IV shown in this listing. Originally released in 1999 as a new Retro+ colorway, the “Oreo” features premium leather throughout the upper, including what was once a mesh side window and the triangle attachment connected to the lace eyelets. The eyelets and midsole feature the paint splatter effect, which was originally found on the “White/Cement” colorway of the IV. The 2015 retro version featured here stays true to its original design, making for one of the best non-OG IV colorways of all time.

Stylist and designer Aleali May has had quite a run with Jordan Brand over the past three years. In addition to her exceptional “Satin Shadow” Jordan I, which had both men and women clamoring for her exclusive product, she has churned out popular iterations of the Jordan VI and this all-suede, multi-colored variation of the Jordan I. The “Court Lux” Jordan I is a product of a larger “Court Lux” collection between May and WNBA star Maya Moore, which also featured her luxurious take on the Jordan X. This I, however, features a multi-colored design inspired by some of the team’s Moore played for throughout her illustrious career. To separate itself even further, May added a faux fur cover on the tongue, which is removable.
