The multinational luxury goods conglomerate known as LVMH has narrowed the list of nominees for their annual Prize for Young Fashion Designers from 1300 applicants down to 20 finalists. Among the nominees are U.K. standouts A-Cold-Wall*, cult Japanese label Doublet and Berlin’s rising fan-favorite GmbH.

Previous winners of the award include Shayne Oliver of Hood By Air, Simon Porte Jacquemus of Jacquemus and Grace Wales Bonner of Wales Bonner. The winners are granted €300,000 as well as “personalized technical and financial support from the LVMH Group for a 12-month period following the LVMH Prize award.”

Financial boost aside, the exposure to LVMH designers and executives (not to mention the global press coverage) makes the opportunity unlike nearly any other for young designer looking to establish themselves on the global stage.
