As one of the biggest Eastern Conference rivalries the NBA has ever known, Michael Jordan and the Bulls have had their fair share of epic battles with Larry Bird's Celtics. In 1986, Jordan scored a playoff record 63 points against the Celtics in Boston, which was reason enough for Nike and Jordan to release several versions of the green and white Air Jordan 1 'Boston Celtics.' The Jordan 1 Retro High OG Celtics first appeared in the DMP double box in 2009 with Retro BRED counterparts. A metallic version with gold-colored swoosh was released four years later, but most fans waited until 2023 for the OG Celtics 1s to catch a standalone retro release, this time with the black original swoosh.
